• 1950's Early - The Thursday Night Dance - was started. Click here to see a video of the dances from the early 1970’s.

• In the 1950’s it was geared towards teenagers. According to and article in the Delavan Enterprise (7/16/64)

• Today is it geared to children 12 and under. All are welcome and all ages will enjoy is dance.

• In 2014, The dance was later changed to Friday's

1952

• The Wisconsin School for the Deaf was founded on April 19, 1852

April 19th
• The Wisconsin School for the Deaf was founded.
1953
August 5th
• Street lights were installed in the Park (Click to see pdf of the mintues).

• A new concrete retaining wall was constructed to protect the beach and hold sand.

• New swings and sandboxes have been installed.

• Additonal Park benches were added.

• Children's Day started - August 16th - Teenage Dances on Thursday nights.

• The The Pearce's Farm Stand - Robert (Bob) and Mary Ann Pearce started dairying in 1955.

• Gail Reece, the caretaker at the Park from 1956 - 1980, retires. More information on Gail

• The Sweet Corn Lady started selling sweet corn off the back of a truck in downtown Delavan, Wisconsin
