• Lake Lake Resort - was regular stop on his tours throughout the ‘40s for Lawrence Welk.
September
• The first annual Arbor Day celebration was held and continues to this day! (For more info)
1940
• The Bradley Knitting Company was established which was the first major manufacturer in Delavan, it employed up to 1,200 people over the next 30 years.
1941
September
• Samuel Phoenix's (One of the fonders of Delavan) grandson, J.J. Phonix, the founder of Assembly Park, J.J. Phonix spoke at the second annual Arbor Day celebration.
1942

• Mr. and Mrs. Tuckwoods purchase the cottage owned by Fred and Blache Cevene and acted as a rental agent for cottages around the park for many years. The Zagone family purchased California Cottage and Hollywood apartment from the Tuckwoods estate in 1971.

• 1942, Lake Lawn Resort began year-round operations and was purchased by partners Jay Reader, Harold Zilisch, and Russ Babcock, who combined their skill and vision to add new attractions to the resort.

• The old DInning Hall, Georgann Inn as this building was known at the end of its useful life, was destroyed by fire in 1947

• Delavan was the site of Wisconsin's Circus Centennial as part of the state's celebration of 100 years of statehood.
Built - Date unknown
• World War II era Quonset hut, known as the White Store, built soon after the hotel burned down. This building served as small grocery store and had a breakfast/lunch counter.
Vi Mulder
• Vi Mulder was the last proprietor of the White Store.
